India is free but Indians are NOT

Are we free? Really? Do we respect "freedom" at all?
.
Last night just before I went to bed, I casually clicked on a video which was shared by my friend. I never ever thought that little act of mine will leave me unpleasantly disturbed, restless and sleepless for the rest of the night. That grim gloomy scene was coming in front of my eyes every often. Those voices in the clip was still in my ears making my situation worse. Just a two minutes of clip left such a brutal scars on my mind that even 3 hours of movie also never did it so intensely.
.
What was so horrific in that tiny clip? An insane orphanage manager was beating little innocent kids very mercilessly with a stick while kid is screaming for life! Kids, aged 4 to 7, chilled & scared to the bone shivering in front of him in a corner and this sick retard was pulling them one by one, ignoring their plea and beating them till they scream. And then he was kicking them as they run away screaming in pains. What was "crime" of those little angles? The crime was, they were just watching television without his permission!
.
Then I did a little search about it and found that it had happened in Egypt sometime last year. The clip was secretly filmed by the manager's wife. The clip went so viral that it generated mass outrage in Egypt to the extent that their president had to intervene. As a result, those kids were transferred to another facility and the man was sent behind bars for three years.
.
But is that the end of the story? Are kids safe now? We just "assume" that things are going fine after his punishment. We convince our mind and remain in peace. In exactly same way we would've been if the lady had not captured this heinous act of her husband. This simply means, these things are still happening around us. Within four walls, innocents are being tortured and their screams are being suppressed.
.
Kids are still being tortured, kicked, humiliated around the globe. India is _not_ an exception. Just besides this video on YouTube there was another heart-rending video showing three visually impaired children, being mercilessly caned by the principal of school in Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh). One kid was literally trying to hug him back pleading him to not to beat. This made me numb. My eyes became wet. I feel ashamed of myself who was planning to wish "Happy Independence Day" just the next day.
.
But well, do we think is this all happening only in orphanages? Not at all. As a parents are we all "sane"? Do we respect freedom of our kids? Somewhere in my own neighbourhood I've seen a kid was suffering sudden fits as a result of her mother was beating her often in home. These things are happening right near us inside four closed walls of homes. Many many parents beat their own kid with stick just like animal, close them in bathroom for hours, torture them by not giving food. Because they don't study, because they don't behave, because they don't obey, just because they are not "the way their parents want them to be". Such a SICK hypocrite society celebrating "FREEDOM" today !
.
Few days back very much here in Pune a 10 year old kid was tortured, locked in room for months, kept hungry for many days and finally beaten to death by his own mother. What that poor kid might have screamed like? In Marathi "Aaai" is the word we scream when we feel pain. Aaai means mother. In this case his own Aaai was hitting him mercilessly by cricket bat and finally as a result of severe wounds, poor kid died ! And just few days before that in Kolhapur a teenage girl was beaten to death by her own brother "because she was not wearing clothes which he wanted her to wear and because she was not behaving the way he wanted her to be". What was more pathetic was in some forums some cultural+religious psychopaths were justifying his act.
.
And today we all are celebrating the day "India got freedom"...!!!
